About our yarns and threads

We offer several selections of stitching threads when you purchase a kit with your canvas from our Canvas OR Kit selection: Please choose the one that meets your design needs and personal taste. We will be glad to help with your decision.

Some suggestions:

Tapestry Wool

We use Anchor Tapestry Wool for the kits we supply. Tapestry wool will give your design an "old world look." You do not separate tapestry wool.

Perle Cotton

Perle Cotton (which you do not separate) will give your design a "pearly, shiny look." Perle Cotton will be raised from the canvas and adds texture to your design. Great for flowers (and for the stitcher too if you're allergic to wool).

Cotton Floss

Cotton Floss will give your design a "satin look." The cotton floss is in 6 strands and for good coverage you will need all 6 strands and sometime 9 depending on the coverage you desire. The cotton floss will lie next to the canvas and give it a satin look; it will not show quite the textured look, but it does give an elegant effect.

Silk & Ivory

Not too long ago we decided to offer the luscious Silk & Ivory line of threads. These are a 50/50 combination of Merino Wool and Silk. The feel in your hand is almost "buttery" it is so soft and pleasing to the touch. It will give your needlepoint piece a soft, elegant, luxurious look and feel. We highly recommend it.

100% Silk

We also offer 100% Silk threads. This is the true essence of beauty, with it's soft sheen and perfect lay. Any piece with an Asian look will be best done in these threads.

Specialty Threads

We also use specialy threads including metallics, wisper, velvet, etc. when doing custom kits, particularly for hand painted canvases, especially Christmas stockings (one of our most popular services).
